Conference Venue: The conference will be in Pennís ARCH Building, at the intersection of 36th Street and Locust Walk, the major campus walkway. Enter the ARCH building from the 36th Street entrance. The Registration Desk will be in the lobby. Sessions will be in Room 208 on the second floor. Google Map location and directions here.
Hotels: Here are some leading options:
University City: The Inn at Penn (3-minute walk to conference venue); Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel (5-minute walk to conference venue).
Center City: Club Quarters, Sheraton Downtown Philadelphia Hotel, Sonesta Hotel Philadelphia, Courtyard Marriott. (Itís an easy trip from Center City to University City by taxi/Uber, public transportation, bike share, or walking.)
There are of course dozens of other possibilities, and you should feel free to book any hotel of your choice.
Arriving at the Conference by Taxi or Uber: If coming directly from
the airport, instruct the driver to drop you at 36th and Spruce Streets. Then
walk North on the 36th Street walkway until you reach the ARCH Building at 36th
and Locust Walk. Coming from the 30th Street Amtrak Station or Center City,
instruct the driver to drop you at 36th and Walnut Streets. Then walk South on
the 36th Street walkway until you reach the ARCH Building at 36th and Locust
Meals: We will supply breakfasts, lunches, coffee breaks, and Thursday May 18 conference dinner.
Philadelphia Sights and Attractions: If you plan to
arrive ahead or stay after the program ends, the City of Philadelphia has
fascinating neighborhoods and excellent museums (including the Penn Museum, as well as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Barnes Foundation, and the Rodin Museum). It is also a historic city
with tours of Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Constitution Center, Betsy
Ross House, etc.

Using Public Transportation in Philadelphia: The public transportation system is run by SEPTA. A single-ride fare on a bus, trolley, or subway is 2.25$ (Exact fares must be used. Some subway stops have a booth and vending machines for tokens).
