All applicants
for the Ph.D. degree must submit a complete application, including
their personal statement, college transcripts, three letters of recommendation,
and Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Test scores. The institution
code for GRE scores is 2926; our department code is 1902. In addition,
applicants from non-English speaking countries must submit the results
of the TOEFL exam and are expected to score 600 or above. Applicants
from non-English speaking countries are also required to submit a
ten-page paper, in English, preferably on some aspect of political
science.
The deadline for applications is December 15, 2005 for the 2006 academic
year. The application fee is $70.00, and payment should be made to
the “Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania.” All
applications should be sent to the Graduate Division of Arts and Sciences,
3401 Walnut Street, Suite 322A, Philadelphia, PA 19104-6228.
The Graduate Executive Committee reviews all completed applications
and makes decisions about admissions. If you wish to submit a paper
