About Stiteler Hall
Stiteler
Hall, the home of the Department, occupies the eastern side of a social
sciences quadrangle just north of old campus. Completed in 1966, the
low, colonnaded structure recalls Beaux-Arts formalism with a decidedly
local touch of brickwork. Its architects -- the firm of Harbeson,
Hough, Livingston, Larson -- also designed the Van Pelt Library (1962)
at Penn and the Rayburn House Office Building (1965) in Washington,
D.C.
