Welcome to Pi Sigma Alpha - Beta Tau’s Website.

Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, is open to graduate and upper-level undergraduate students in political science who have achieved the required level of academic excellence. Membership is possible at the University of Pennsylvania through the Beta Tau chapter.

Founded in 1953 at the University of Pennsylania, Pi Sigma Alpha is the national honor society for undergraduate and graduate students of political science, with over 620 chapters established in colleges and universities in the United States. Pi Sigma Alpha is also a member organization of the Association of College Honor Societies.

Pi Sigma Alpha offers a forum for scholarly activities on the university campus, bringing students interested in politics together through a series of events. Each semester, the society hosts a Dinner & Discourse series in which it invites renowned faculty to chat with students over dinner.

Benefits of membership include --

  • Forum for scholarly activities
  • Opportunities for administrative experience as a Pi Sigma Alpha officer
